What is the main component in ginseng?

I heard that ginseng tea is good for our health, and it contains a lot of minerals such as iron.  Why do many people say that "ginseng tea is good for our health?"  What is the difference between ginseng tea and regular tea such as green tea, and is it true that ginseng contains a lot of
minerals?

Answer:
White's Ginseng Farm, who is actually growing ginseng, kindly answered the question above:

We are involved in ginseng production, not an authority on the properties of ginseng tea compared to other teas. Our expertise would be on how to grow ginseng and/or the problems associated with growing it. But using the resources at our disposal, we will do our best to answer the question.

Drinking Ginseng tea is just another method of consuming ginseng. We grow American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) or white ginseng. Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng) or red ginseng is also used to make tea. Ginseng has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.

Ginsenosides are considered to be the main active component of ginseng. More than thirteen ginsenosides have been identified in American ginseng. Several vitamins are also present in ginseng including folic acid and niacin. Minerals such as manganese, copper, cobalt, and vanadium are also present in minute quantity.

Consumers purchase ginseng in its various forms because they seek the presumed health benefits of the root. Ginseng is said to reduce fatigue, increase stamina, and strengthens the general physical condition. It restores dynamic equilibrium and integration in the physiological systems thereby restoring vitality and normalizing disturbances rather than treating specific diseases.

We do sell a variety of ginseng at farm-gate prices. We sell one pound bags of whole ginseng roots, ginseng root hairs (excellent for tea and they have the highest ginsenocide levels) as well we sell ginseng powder and capsules.

Hope this is of some help.
